Esparanza has been homeless most of her life (since 12 years old) and would do whatever she could to survive along with her brother Francisco. Rick & Leslie met her through one of Heart4Cabo's sponsored families who asked if there was any help they could offer Esparanza & Francisco. Rick reached out to us and asked if we would like to build her and her brother a home. They had been given 2 parcels of land, so we sent the funds. We met Esparanza recently (June of 2021) and toured her beautiful home. We also learned that she has started a neighborhood church that she hosts in her yard as a way to say thank you to the Lord for her blessings. She is truly an amazing women of God.

JoJo Gonzalez
This is from a recent Facebook post from our partner Heart4Cabo:
During these unprecedented times, sometimes our volunteers find themselves in the same position as the people they are helping. Jojo Gonzalez has been one of our most committed volunteers during this pandemic by not only helping us with the mass deliveries but by also doing the individual ones during the week when he can. He humbly reached out to us and asked us for help for food, rent, etc until his work starts back up. He continues to have a heart to serve the community as soon as more dispensas are available. Thank you JoJo and thank you to our financial partners for all the help you give to our Los Cabos community
.
One Heart 2 Homes is consistently humbled by the hearts of servants around the world. We are blessed and honored to be able to provide Jojo with a new and safe home to live in!
New Matthew 25 House
Our elderly care residents, the most vulnerable elderly in our community, that receive 24/7 care will continue to receive that care, but at one location. This will allow all the care givers for the elderly to be at a centralized location and provide greater security and care. This will mean that we can better balance staffing needs with budget requirements. Our tangible items such as water pumps, generators, stoves, and other items that need frequent maintenance and repairs will be consolidated.

Heart4Cabo Food Donations - "Dispensas4Defensas"
Our response to the Corona Virus
In this time of uncertainty we realize that the best way to combat darkness is to continue to serve in the mission field because we have nothing to fear. All of the people we serve live in every day situations that most of us fear living in and might be already facing in some first world nations. The Heart4Cabo families live daily with no guarantee of food, water and electricity. They never have warm water. They have very little money if any. They live in mostly unsanitary conditions according to our standards. For them the struggle is real every day. For that reason we will continue to help where needed as long as we have the resources to do so.
Heart4Cabo has been diligent in their pursuit of helping families in the barrios that are in the San Jose del Cabo & Cabo San Lucas region. They started making weekly deliveries to these areas with teams of volunteers and funds that have been raised. Each bag contains essentials for families (see 1st photo) and this is what is inside a $250 pesos despensa or roughy $10.10USD today. 14.55 lbs or 6.6kg of food. Also cooking oil, toilet paper, Clorox, and soap. They come with a reusable bag and La Comer puts them together and delivers them to Heart4Cabo. Not sure there is a better deal out there to save time and stretch out your donations!
We have been honored to partner with them and see the heart of their ministry as they bless the people of Cabo by not only meeting their physical needs but their spiritual needs as well!
